Meet Kim Voss
Kim and her husband Kevin have deep roots in public education and in the Romeo community. They first moved to Romeo in 1978, later returned to the Village in 2017, and have restored a historic Greek Revival home while working to preserve a historic log cabin on the property. Kim is active in the Romeo Historical Society, Green Space Romeo, and the Romeo and Juliet Garden Club.
Education has shaped Kim’s life and family. She and Kevin were the first in their families to graduate from college, then spent their careers serving students. Kim taught history and social studies, Kevin taught math and coached varsity basketball, and both of their children built lives grounded in education and service.
Kim’s work in schools has always centered on a simple belief: students flourish when adults work together to support them. From the classroom to the principal’s office to district leadership, she has used relationships, data, teacher input, and family engagement to help students grow.
A LIFETIME OF EXPERIENCE
Kim’s 40-year career in education gives her firsthand understanding of what students, teachers, administrators, and families need from a strong school district.
Teacher
For 27 years, Kim taught history and social studies at Chippewa Valley High School. She created learning opportunities, sponsored activities, and helped students believe they could succeed.
Assistant Principal
As assistant principal, Kim focused on staff engagement, school morale, test preparation, and using student data with teacher and parent input to better support students.
Founding Principal
As founding principal of Dakota High School’s 9th Grade Center, Kim helped students transition into high school. During her tenure, Algebra 1 failure rates dropped from 38% to below 10%.
District Administrator
At the district office, Kim coordinated testing, assessment, and curriculum work, helping schools identify gaps, reduce redundancy, and better support students.
Priorities That Put Students First
Practical goals for stronger schools, supported educators, and a connected Romeo community.

Help every student succeed
Every child can be successful when schools identify needs early and respond with the right support. Kim will bring an educator’s eye to student achievement, using data, teacher insight, family input, and practical intervention to help students grow before they fall behind.

Support teachers and school staff
Teachers do their best work when they are respected, listened to, and given the tools to help students thrive. Kim has worked as a teacher, principal, and administrator, so she understands the importance of morale, collaboration, clear expectations, and support for the people serving students every day.

Strengthen the community connection
Strong schools are built by the whole community. Kim believes academics, activities, clubs, athletics, family engagement, and community partnerships all help students build lasting connections and a meaningful school experience.
